Sedgwick County board accepts resignation of Mike Sturlow from Fire District steering council

The Sedgwick County governing body accepted the resignation of Mike Sturlow from the Fire District No. 1 Steering Council during its Jan. 8, 2025 meeting. Justin Wagner, County Council, introduced the item recommending acceptance of the resignation; Chairman Beatty moved to accept Sturlow's resignation and the motion passed on a unanimous roll call.
"This item would be to accept the resignation of Mike Sturlow from the Sedgwick County Fire District number 1 steering council," Justin Wagner said during the appointments item. Commissioners thanked Sturlow for his service, with Chairman Beatty saying the steering council "has been very useful" and noting there are several openings the county will work to fill to ensure industry representation on the council. The board did not specify timelines or which industries the open seats will represent.
