Montgomery Selectboard approves $1.1124 million engineering contract for STEP III wastewater work

The Town of Montgomery Selectboard and Water Commission voted Jan. 26 to adopt the STEP III Engineering Service Agreement (ESA) with Aldrich and Elliot for bid-phase and construction services for the municipal wastewater project. The contract amount is $1,112,400 and the board noted the fees have been approved by DEC/WID for reimbursement against ARPA/SRF funding.
Charlie Hancock outlined the scope and funding eligibility before the motion. "Charlie presented the STEP III Engineering Service Agreement (ESA) from Aldrich and Elliot for Bid Phase and Construction services. All fees have been approved by DEC/WID for reimbursement against ARPA/SRF funding (Town has approval letter in hand)." Mark Brouillette moved to adopt the ESA, and Daniel Khan seconded; the motion passed 3-0-1 with Selectboard member Leanne Barnard recorded as abstaining. The board said work continues to clarify the scope with HTA for supplemental consulting as needed.
The board did not vote on construction contracts at the meeting; this vote approves engineering services for bidding and oversight. The Selectboard recorded the favorable reimbursement determination from the state water program as a factor in moving forward.
