Iroquois County approves bridge engineering agreements and $2.5M in county-aid petitions

The Transportation & Highway Committee and full board approved multiple bridge engineering agreements and petitions for county aid during the Jan. 13 session.
County Engineer Alan Harwood presented Hutchison Engineering and Willett, Hofmann & Associates bridge-plan agreements — examples included $87,794 for Artesia Township and $128,754 for Stockland Township engineering work — and the board approved those agreements by roll call vote. Harwood also brought seven Petitions for County Aid to the board. The largest petition was SN038-4927 for Onarga Township at $1,300,000; other petitions included bridge and roadway projects with amounts of $75,000, $435,000, $100,000, $100,000, $450,000, and $35,000 respectively. All petitions were approved by roll call vote.
Committee members noted letting and contract schedules: the Ford County letting on Feb. 26 and the Iroquois County General Maintenance letting on March 2. County staff will proceed with contracting and inclusion of approved projects on the 2027 multi-year plan as indicated in committee discussion.
