City staff presented a supplemental and modification agreement with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for design and construction of replacement trails in Shannon Springs Park. The total estimated cost on record was $1,999,440 with the city's estimated portion of $533,127 to be forwarded to ODOT so the project can go to bid.
Andy Conyers described the work as replacing most existing trails (converting asphalt/other surfaces to concrete), addressing erosion near water features, adding sod/topsoil, benches and lighting, and noted the project is an 80/20 grant arrangement with ODOT. Staff said design is complete; assuming good bids the contractor could mobilize in January or February with about five months to finish the work.
