The Chickasha City Council approved a task order with Friese and Nichols to prepare design documents and provide construction administration for a proposed multi‑use pavilion at Shannon Springs Park at a design cost of $119,950. Parks and Recreation Director Andy Conyers said the city received a $100,000 Healthy Incentive grant from TSET for the project and that the advisory board recommended a location north of existing parking near restrooms.
Conyers said construction estimates range from $530,000 to $680,000 and staff would aim for the lower end. He told the council design would include survey work, geotechnical work, electrical, landscape, architectural and engineering services, and that design would take roughly 4–5 months. "That grant was for $100,000 to construct a multiuse pavilion structure," Conyers said. Council members asked about budget timing, the grant conditions, and the possible need to include construction funds in a future budget.
