Council approves Field View subdivision minor plat with sidewalk waiver

The Planning & Zoning Commission held the required public hearing on May 19, 2026 and voted unanimously to recommend approval. Staff said lot 1 would be roughly 1.56 acres and lot 2 roughly 1.83 acres to allow existing residences to be placed on individual parcels; staff also reported no anticipated budget impact related to approval. After asking for a location clarification (staff said the site is west of Galesburg near the BNSF railyards), the council approved the plat by roll call with six 'yes' votes.
