The Jerseyville City Council approved a notice of award to Stutz Excavating for the Lions Club Park Phase 2 project on Nov. 12. Director of Public Works Bob Manns presented a rendering, reported five bids were received, and recommended awarding the contract to the low bidder.
The awarded bid carries a total project cost of $1,496,958.00 and accepts alternates that add a soft landing zone for playground equipment and additional parking along Jefferson Street adjacent to the splash pad area. Councilors indicated the goal is to have the upgraded park open sometime next season.
