President Lopez flags budget shortfall, mail delays and flooding concerns near Iles Ave

On flooding near Iles Avenue, Lopez said IDOT had told the village it "do[es] not believe there is flooding around Iles Ave," and he requested the board's support because a meeting with IDOT is expected within 60–90 days. He additionally noted that a new owner at Town and Country Mall is proposing many storage units and that an underground reservoir there is causing issues.
Those comments positioned the board to balance immediate fiscal pressures with pending development and infrastructure matters; trustees did not take formal votes on these announcements at the March 5 meeting.
