At the Sept. 3 meeting Mayor Kevin Stork announced the annual oil-and-chip program will begin the week of Sept. 9 and asked residents to exercise caution while affected streets are under prep and sealing work; a list of affected streets is posted on the City of Jerseyville website and residents signed up to receive texts via Text MyGov will get notifications.
Stork also noted the front entrance to the police department is temporarily closed for construction and visitors should use the east side door for assistance. He said City Hall will be closed for maintenance on Thursday, Sept. 5 and Friday, Sept. 6, and that anyone needing assistance should go to the police department during that closure (see SEG 011).
