Redfield council approves staff travel for multiple water and safety trainings
Summary
Councilors approved sending staff to water-industry seminars and damage-prevention meetings, including SD AWWA in Mitchell (March 25–26) and EDMR/PFAS/Lead Copper Rule workshops (Feb. 18–20, Zoom).
On Feb. 3 the council approved several staff-training requests related to water operations and safety compliance. The council voted to send Ryan Yost and Curt Dykstra to the SD AWWA Annual Spring Water Seminar in Mitchell on March 25–26, 2025 and approved sending Chad Moore and Ryan Yost to the EDMR/PFAS/Lead Copper Rule Revisions/backflow prevention/EDMR workshop (Feb. 18–20, via Zoom). The council also approved sending Chad Moore and Ryan Yost to the Spring Damage Prevention Meeting in Aberdeen on March 5, 2025.
Each travel authorization was approved by motion; the minutes record those approvals but do not include individual travel costs beyond a generic statement that the council would “pay all applicable fees.”
