Contractor halts sewer liner work after discovery of protruding water; Council directs further investigation
Summary
Livingston Septic reported a section of sewer allowing protruding water was found during liner installation; the Council authorized the contractor and Superintendent Lane to relocate the liner to another site and investigate and repair the cause before completing work.
Livingston Septic informed the Council on Aug. 6 that crews discovered a section of sewer that is allowing significant protruding water, preventing installation of the planned liner. Chris Brown said the team can use the liner at another location in Town at no additional charge and offered to honor the original contract price per linear foot for all liners.
After discussion, Commissioner Potter moved that Brown coordinate with Superintendent Shawn Lane to locate a new site for the liner and to investigate and fix the cause of the inflow before returning to install the liner at the original location. Commissioner Chase seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The Council directed staff and the contractor to report progress to the Council as repairs proceed.
