Trappe introduces ordinance to restrict new private wells inside town limits

Attorney Lyndsey Ryan clarified the ordinance would not affect existing private wells.
Commissioner Potter moved to introduce the ordinance, Commissioner Chase seconded, and the motion was approved unanimously. The Council set a public hearing for Sept. 3, 2025 at 5:55 p.m. If adopted after public comment and review, the ordinance would give the Council discretion to approve narrow exceptions only after engineering review.
