Jasper CCSD 17 moves into closed session under state law, approves executive-session minutes

At 6:50 p.m. the Jasper CCSD 17 Board voted to move into executive closed session citing Illinois statutory exceptions for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)); collective negotiating matters and salary-schedule deliberations (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2)); and student disciplinary cases (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(9)). The motion to enter closed session carried with recorded yes votes from those present and one absence.
The board returned to open session at 7:13 p.m. and subsequently approved executive session minutes on a motion by Beth Titzer, seconded by Josh Zurliene. The meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
