Jasper CCSD 17 board approves coaching hires, substitute teacher and employee compensation

The Jasper CCSD 17 Board of Education approved several personnel items at its Aug. 22 meeting. The board voted to employ Mackenzie Stewart as assistant softball coach for the 2024–25 school year pending the results of a background/EHR check; the motion was made by Caitlin Glisson and seconded by Justin Atwood and passed with all present voting yes and one absence noted.
Separately, the board approved hiring Kellene Kinney as a long-term substitute music teacher for the 2024–25 school year with benefits that include 13 sick days and beginning teacher pay starting Sept. 3, 2024; Kinney will receive substitute pay for August. The board also approved Andrew Diesel as a volunteer assistant baseball coach, and approved non-certified employee compensation for FY25 as presented. All motions passed on recorded votes with one absence.
