District staff presented two business items Aug. 4 that will appear on the Aug. 18 consent agenda: a Georgia Department of Education capital outlay contract application tied to South Paulding High School and a recommended award for fencing and gate installation.
Doug Carey described the capital outlay application connected to the South Paulding renovation and said the DOE contract identifies $5,228,344 in reimbursable funds payable to the district. He asked the board to place the application on the Aug. 18 consent agenda for approval.
Cole Crowder, executive director of business services, presented IFB 26-260630 (published June 30, 2026). Crowder said six responses were received by the July 21 deadline and that procurement staff found Hawk Fences LLC and ASAP Landscaping Management Group to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidders for the solicitation categories; the recommended award would cover September 2026 through August 2027 and was placed on Aug. 18 consent.
Board members asked about how the fencing award fits into the district's broader safety and security fencing goals; staff agreed to provide a status update on the percentage of district fencing completed when the consent agenda item returns for approval.
