Staff (Hansen) said the city's current JetVac unit is nearing the end of its useful life and the offered vehicle was available at a price significantly below estimated market value of $200,000–$230,000.
Funding for the purchase will come from the vehicle replacement fund and the water fund, and the city intends to auction its current unit online after acquisition. Council approved the agreement unanimously (7-0). Staff publicly thanked the sanitary district for the partnership and noted equipment-sharing benefits for ratepayers and municipal operations.
