Indian Creek board places tentative FY25–26 budget on display, hears solar farm proposal

Superintendent Chad Willis presented the district's tentative FY25'126 budget at the Aug. 11 board meeting and said the document will be placed on display at the district office ahead of a public hearing.
"The budget will be on the agenda at the September 15th meeting to be approved by the board," Willis said. The board voted to place the tentative budget on display for 30 days and set a budget hearing for Sept. 15, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school 21st Century Classroom.
Willis also briefed the board on facility and energy items: secure entry work is underway though bullet-resistant glass is on backorder, and the baseball field recently had fences and buildings removed. He reported that Sunvest has identified a 44-acre site between Genoa and Kingston for a proposed solar farm that he said "should save the district about $300 thousand dollars over a 20 year period." The board's approval to place the budget on display begins the public review period required before final adoption.
The district will publish the tentative budget at the district office and take public comment at the Sept. 15 hearing before any final vote.
