Council approves routine contracts and resolutions, terminates ETSA IGA
Summary
At the May 13 meeting the Council authorized tennis court resurfacing contracts, approved resolutions supporting climate-action updates and banner criteria for SH62, and voted to terminate the Town's intergovernmental agreement with the Ouray County Emergency Telephone Service Authority.
The Council handled several routine but consequential items during the meeting. Staff presented three bids for resurfacing the Athletic Park tennis courts and recommended Athletic Court Surfaces LLC at $31,279; the Council authorized a contract not to exceed $32,000. Marshal Shane Schmalz requested termination of the 1991 intergovernmental agreement with the Ouray County Emergency Telephone Service Authority; Councilor Kroger moved and Councilor Grambley seconded termination, which carried unanimously.
The Council also approved Resolution No. 26-03 supporting updates to the Colorado Communities for Climate Action Policy Statement and Resolution No. 26-04 establishing criteria for banners on the State Highway 62 structure (applications remain subject to CDOT approval). The Mayor announced the Town Council scholarships awarded to Madalyn Freed and Sophia Scranton and staff set a workshop date to review Standards of Conduct for June 16 at 6:00 p.m.
