Jerome confirms July 4 parade to go on 'rain or shine'; logistics and donations noted

The Village of Jerome will hold its Fourth of July parade as planned, President Mike Lopez told the Board during public comment and event updates.
Lopez said the parade "will go on rain or shine, starting setup at 7:30 am," and reported 30 units confirmed (18 cars, 10 trucks and possibly five additional units). He also noted that Hy-Vee donated 240 hot dogs and water and that staff and volunteers were helping with setup. During the visitors acknowledgement, resident Dan Williams said the village looked well-prepared: he said he hoped the village "continues to move forward and keep Jerome the premium place to live."
The board approved closing the Park & Library parking lot from July 2–4 to stage the parade. The closure and staging plan are intended to support parade logistics and Touch-a-Truck activities scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Leonard Street.
