Council OKs State Highway 67 closure for Veterans Day parade Nov. 11

The council approved an IDOT resolution to close a segment of State Highway 67 Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the Veterans Day parade; VFW representative Greg Breden said the VFW is hosting and noted eight families participated in Gold Star Mothers & Families Day.
The Jerseyville City Council approved an Illinois Department of Transportation resolution to close State Highway #67 from Prairie Street to Exchange Street for the Veterans Day parade on Monday, Nov. 11 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The motion passed unanimously.
Greg Breden, present at the meeting, said the VFW is hosting the event this year and the ceremony will again be held "on the 11th month, 11th day, and 11th hour." He also thanked the council for support of Gold Star Mothers & Families Day and reported there were eight families that participated this year.
