Member Balester was elected chair of the Boulder City Allotment Committee on Aug. 3, 2026, and Member Goya was elected vice chair, both by acclamation.
Staff planning manager Nikisha Lyon explained that the chair and vice chair are elected annually for the construction year that runs July 1–June 30; because there was only one nomination for each position the committee elected both officers by acclamation. A committee member nominated Balester for chair, and the nominee consented. The clerk confirmed there were no further nominations and declared Balester elected. The committee followed the same procedure to confirm Goya as vice chair.
The election process will govern committee leadership for construction year 2026–27, during which the chair presides at meetings and the vice chair assumes those duties in the chair’s absence. The committee moved on to routine business after the appointments.
