James Cook of Rauch reviewed a letter from Lakeside asking to reduce GMB inspection services because site work is paused. Attorney Lyndsey Ryan told the Council the town determines required inspection levels and that inspections are not required while work is paused.
After discussion, the council approved part-time inspection services on the condition that one-week notice be given before any work requiring an inspector and that a $10,000 fine be assessed if town-owned infrastructure is constructed without an inspector present. The council reserved the right to reinstate full-time inspections at any time. The motion carried with recorded votes of Sullivan, Newnam, Potter and Chase in the affirmative.
