Town approves street closures and park use for 158th Nace’s Day parade on Nov. 1
Summary
Mr. Brown of Scott’s United Methodist Church requested street closures and park use for Nace’s Day on Nov. 1 (rain date Nov. 8); the council unanimously approved the closures, parking and barrier support and assigned traffic control to the Sheriff’s Office and barriers to the fire department.
Mr. Brown from Scott’s United Methodist Church asked the council to close Maple Avenue and Main Street for the 158th Annual Nace’s Day parade on November 1, with a rain date of November 8. He also requested use of Veterans Park for parking and Nace’s Park for activities and asked that Main Street from Mulliken Lane to the red light remain closed until 4 p.m.
Sgt. Aita said the Sheriff’s Department will handle road closures and President Newnam said the fire department will supply barriers. The council unanimously approved Mr. Brown’s requests and offered the town’s support in any way possible.
