Trappe Authorizes Release of Three Lakeside Building Permits Amid Streetlight and Flooding Concerns

Developer Dan Deakins requested the Council release three building permits (Lots 146–148) on Lake Tahoe Drive so that work on that portion of the street could proceed. Lakeside residents Mr. and Mrs. Bass urged the council to address safety concerns tied to incomplete paving and missing streetlights, saying the darkness has made them reluctant to go outside at night.
President Newnam explained the town's reasons for previously putting a hold on permit issuance but moved to authorize release of building permits for 1550, 1552 and 1554 Lake Tahoe Drive. He recommended the developer consider installing temporary street lighting for safety; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Walter Chase and approved unanimously. James Cook of Rauch said completion of Well 4R and the street work is expected in about 10–12 months if schedules hold.
