Sgt. Aita presented the monthly police report and told the council that the grant funding supporting scheduled Sheriff patrols in Trappe has ended and the town has not received a response on a new application. "This will reduce the number of hours that the Sheriff's Department will be in Town on scheduled patrols," Sgt. Aita said.
No council action was taken at the Oct. 1 meeting; town officials will monitor the application status and the impact on patrol scheduling going forward.
