The Trappe Town Council voted unanimously on June 4 to increase street sweeping from twice per year to quarterly after President Jeremy Newnam said he had received complaints about debris on town streets. Commissioner Michael Sullivan seconded the motion and the vote passed 5–0.
Council members said the change is intended to reduce visible debris and avoid project delays tied to cleanup; staff were asked to implement the more frequent schedule and incorporate timeline and completion dates into future public works bids and quotes.
