The Buford City Commission voted 3-0 to deny a special use permit for a proposed Bubble Bath tunnel car wash on Friendship Road (SUP-25-06). Mitch Peevy spoke on behalf of the applicant and described the project as affiliated with QuikTrip and located next to the QuikTrip store.
Peevy told the commission that "this car wash is a subsidiary with the QuikTrip Corporation and would be located next to the QuikTrip store." Commissioners noted they had received emails opposing the request before moving to deny the permit; no members of the public were recorded in favor. Vice-Chairman Chris Burge made the motion and Commissioner Bradley W. Weeks seconded it; the motion carried Ayes 3, Nays 0.
