A joint RFP for random drug screening with laboratory confirmations covering the drug recovery court, veterans court, mental health court, pretrial services and the behavioral health unit was presented on Oct. 1. Angela Parkerson, a program administrator, told the committee AvertHealth was the most responsive and highest‑scoring proposer and is recommended for award.
Administrators said the procurement solicited 17 vendors directly (7 local and 10 nonlocal) and received four bids; two local and two nonlocal firms submitted proposals. Purchasing staff said the scoring considered price and technical factors, and the winning proposal scored well above the others. The resolution authorizes a contract with AvertHealth in an amount not to exceed $575,000 for the period through June 30, 2026 with options to renew; the committee voted to forward the item with a favorable recommendation.
