The board approved an addendum that modifies the timeline for certificated negotiations so bargaining will begin in Spring 2026. The addendum specifies, "The new 'sunshine' date shall be set for January 5, 2026 and this item will be one of the openers." The board voted to approve the addendum during the Oct. 30 meeting.
District officials said the timing change is intended to improve forecasting and avoid retroactive pay adjustments; Chief Business Official Diana Davisson noted it "helps to possibly avoid having to do a retro" when changes occur after fiscal deadlines. The addendum states that all other terms of the current agreement remain in full effect.
