The Chatom Union School District Board of Trustees formally elected Trustee Alison Carvalho as board president and Trustee Anthony Avila as board clerk during the organizational portion of its Dec. 9 meeting. The motions to elect Carvalho and Avila passed on recorded motions (Carvalho: Motion by Anthony Avila, second by Karen Macedo; Avila: Motion by Karen Macedo, second by Anthony Avila).
The board also approved Karen Macedo as trustee representative and confirmed that the superintendent will serve as secretary to the board. The actions were procedural and were taken by voice roll call as part of the meeting’s organizational business; verification of signatures was also approved for board records.
