Corning Union High trustees approve ag-classroom and fencing change orders; construction on track

The Corning Union High School District Board voted unanimously Sept. 11 to approve change orders for the district's new agriculture classrooms and for fencing work on campus.
Superintendent Miguel Barriga told trustees the ag classrooms "are still on schedule to be completed by early November," and said fencing contractors have begun installing panels on the north end of campus with a goal to finish the section from Blackburn to the cafeteria before the next home football game. The motions to approve the change orders were moved and seconded by board members and passed without dissent.
Board members discussed keeping funds available for deferred maintenance projects such as resurfacing the track; Chief Business Official Diana Davisson advised the board the district will consider estimates and the first interim report to determine whether to adjust allocations. The board also approved related consent items earlier in the meeting without objection.
