Durham commissioners honor Together for Resilient Youth on its 25th anniversary

Durham County commissioners passed a resolution Dec. 8 honoring Together for Resilient Youth (TRI) for 25 years of work in substance‑use prevention and community resilience. Commissioner Valentine read the resolution describing TRI’s partnership with Durham Public Schools, naloxone distribution and outreach efforts.
Dr. Wanda Boone, who accepted the resolution, described TRI’s community‑designed resource guide and harm‑reduction work. Boone cited program reach and naloxone distribution, saying, "1,500 naloxone kits have been provided to people in Durham over June, July, August, September, October, November." Commissioners praised TRI’s prevention and resilience work and noted the organization’s role in bringing data and training to school and community settings over many years.
