Resident tells commission lack of cell service drives support for Val Nova tower

During public comment, Tom Kress of North Highway 16 said he often has no cell service and supported the project for safety reasons. "I'm very excited about this project because I am 1 of them that has no cell service 0.5 the time," Kress said, adding that past fires in the area raised concerns about emergency communications.
Kress thanked the developer and the applicant team for moving forward with the proposal. The commission heard the comment during the public hearing for CUP2026-02 and then closed the hearing before moving to a motion to recommend approval.
