Commissioners adopt Resolution 2026‑21 to designate FCAG as lead for consolidated county EMS and authorize grant application

RASEC members Mick Pryor and Lisa Mallon and FCAG Administrator Tim Nichols presented a plan to consolidate emergency medical services across Fremont County, including creation of a joint powers board with added representation from the Northern Arapaho Tribe and the Eastern Shoshone Tribe. The proposal included pursuing grant funding for ambulance acquisition, dispatch integration, billing and revenue management systems, and hiring a director to oversee consolidated services.
Following discussion and additions drafted by County Attorney Nathan Maxon, Michael Jones moved and Clarence Thomas seconded to approve Resolution 2026‑21 to designate FCAG as the regional EMS lead entity, authorize FCAG to submit an application under the Wyoming Rural Health Transformation Program, and declare the county's intent to convey emergency medical services to public oversight. The motion carried unanimously. The board noted that forming the joint powers board and hiring a director are contingent on passage of a ¾% economic development tax in August.
