The board honored two students of the month during the superintendent's report.
Pamela Brinkerhoff, a program administrator, introduced Shekinah Glory Wright from Travis Elementary, describing her as "an energetic, enthusiastic learner" who organized inclusive recess activities and has made significant academic and personal growth since enrolling in November. Catherine Garner, a special-education teacher at Travis Elementary School, described Shekinah's contributions in class and community.
Dr. Valerie Garrett introduced Kevin Sanchez Hernandez from the JCCS program, praising his work ethic and decision to graduate early. Garrett said Kevin "exudes excellence" and described his academic persistence and personal character. The board offered congratulations and acknowledged staff who support student success.
