Lauren reported the town had about 6,000 sandbags in stock, had added another 2,000 that day and had access to roughly 10,000 more if needed; sand and pallet staging locations were discussed so bags can be filled quickly if the forecast demands. "We had, I believe, 6,000 sandbags before. I got another 2,000 today. Have access to probably 10,000 more pretty easily," she said.
Public works staff Ben said Contractor Tester Contracting was wiring panels and installing a chlorinator and expected the well to be pumping by Friday pending bacteria testing and confirmation from the district engineer. "They're gonna have the well pumping by Friday," Ben said, and officials planned to run emergency lab tests to confirm water quality before placing the well online.
