John Morin moved to "put on the table a subcommittee to write the grant," and Kristin Locke seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Committee chair Nick Ferris said town staff and members will coordinate next steps for scope and membership, and the subcommittee will report back with a proposed work plan and timeline.
The vote follows committee discussion of grant eligibility and the need to check matching-fund requirements for some programs; Sherie Gage had sought a clarification to the minutes to reflect that the town must determine whether matching funds are required. Town Administrator Mark Walter agreed staff would assist the subcommittee in gathering technical and funding information.
The committee did not set a firm application deadline at the meeting; members said the subcommittee will research program requirements and draft the application before returning to the full committee with recommendations.
