Clarksville Planning Commission elects 2026 officers, appoints BZA representative

At its Jan. 7 meeting the Clarksville Planning Commission reorganized its leadership for 2026, appointing officers and selecting a commission representative to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Neil Turpin, planning director for the town of Clarksville, opened the Jan. 7 Planning Commission meeting and called for the commission to reorganize and elect officers for 2026. The commission nominated and approved a president and vice president for 2026 and appointed a recording secretary. Turpin later asked for roll call and confirmed all members were present.
A motion to appoint the president produced one recorded abstention; the meeting record shows the tally described as "6 0 1." The commission also appointed Kerry Stimel to serve as the Planning Commission's representative on the Board of Zoning Appeals; Stimel accepted the appointment during the meeting.
The commission approved the minutes from the Dec. 3, 2025 regular session and completed the remaining reorganization tasks before moving on to new business.
