Council approves addendum to Origin Park MOU with River Heritage Conservancy

Staff told the council that the River Heritage Conservancy, developer of Origin Park, and the town entered an MOU in October 2023 and that Addendum No. 2 is intended to clarify guidelines for park use, roles and expected outcomes. "Addendum number 2 being proposed tonight is to establish clear guidelines for the use of the park, emphasizing shared goals for the property development, detailing outcomes, and highlighting the mutual benefits with a particular focus on enhancing community resources and supporting environmental sustainability," staff said.
Councilman Stotts moved to approve addendum number 2 to the memorandum of understanding with River Heritage Conservancy; Councilwoman Henderson seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
No funding changes were reported in the meeting discussion; staff said the addendum is consistent with the October 2023 MOU’s framework and would be the basis for future cooperative work on park development and operations.
