Hospital board approves agenda, minutes and reappoints three medical staff

Board President Jerod Cook called the Petersburg Medical Center Hospital Board meeting to order at 5:30PM. "Board President Cook called the meeting to order at 5:30PM." The board approved the February 25 agenda on a motion by Board Member Joni Johnson, seconded by Board Member Jim Roberts; voting Yea were President Cook, Vice President Cindi Lagoudakis, Secretary Marlene Cushing, Board Members Joe Stratman, Jim Roberts and Joni Johnson. The board then approved the January 29, 2026 minutes on a motion by Jim Roberts, seconded by Vice President Lagoudakis, with the same recorded yea votes.
Later in the meeting Board Member Jim Roberts moved that the board enter executive session "to consider medical staff appointments/reappointments, and any legal concerns;" the motion was seconded by Board Member Joni Johnson and the recorded vote listed those present agreeing to enter executive session. After returning from executive session, Board Secretary Marlene Cushing moved to reappoint Catherine Kowalski (RP Pharmacist), Valerie McWhorter, MD (Pathologist), and Gregory Wolgamot, MD (Pathologist) to the medical staff; the motion was seconded by Vice President Lagoudakis and recorded votes show the motion carried with yea votes from the members present. The meeting adjourned at 6:30PM following a motion by Jim Roberts and a second by Vice President Lagoudakis.
