Manager Beatty opened a public hearing on a petition from Tony Henson to annex a 1.781-acre tract (commonly known as 215 Potters Lane) into Clarksville for construction of four single-family homes. Beatty said the petition was received on Jan. 8 and that notice of the hearing was published on Jan. 10; per state code the council must wait at least 14 days between the hearing and passage of an annexation ordinance.
A licensed surveyor representing the applicant, Clayton Travis Baylor of Cash Wagner and Associates, spoke for the applicant and confirmed Henson has purchased two of three subdivided lots and intends residential development. Baylor said he was available for questions about the property and subdivision details. Manager Beatty said the ordinance approving the annexation will be considered by the council at its Feb. 17 meeting.
