City staff updated the council on the status of a temporary Southern California Edison power pole that was installed at Ladera Linda Community Park to restore power to roughly 40 homes affected by landslide‑related deenergization. Staff said plans, easements and permits have been approved and Edison's operations team is scheduling the work to complete within the existing extension that expires Sept. 16.
An Edison representative, Roger Phillips, attending virtually, told council the project is with operations and that crews are coordinating resources and outage windows. "It's already with our operations team looking for the right window for our resources and, the outages needed," he said. Phillips confirmed there will need to be a cutover outage to connect homes to the new pole and asked the city to notify residents when outages are planned so they can prepare. The council asked staff to continue coordination and to return with any status updates if the work extends beyond the Sept. 16 deadline.
