County moves toward .gov email, signs SD-CJIS user agreement and schedules HR policy review

Register of Deeds and IT Administrator Caryn Hojer received Board authorization to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Dakota State University to participate in a Project Boundary assessment. Hojer told the Board the county needs to move to a .gov email domain and requested a quote from Infotech for the migration. She also said the Laura Ingalls Wilder Society requested access to research in the basement vault and would sign a mold waiver.
Human resources consultants Natalie Remund and Jessica Bingham updated the Board on the DCI audit required for FBI background checks and recommended designating Remund to fulfill process roles; the Board agreed and will consider new policies on March 17, 2026. Bingham presented a User Agreement for SD-CJIS Systems for Access for Non-Criminal Justice agencies and the Board authorized Chairman Lee to sign. The Board later moved into executive session for personnel matters and adjourned the meeting to March 17, 2026.
