The Kingsbury County Board of Commissioners voted to award the low bid of $3,287,773.31 from Asphalt Paving & Materials Co. for the 425th Avenue project after receiving an engineering recommendation from Civil Design, Inc. Motion by Walls, second by Spilde to award the contract carried with all present voting aye. Andrew Kangas of Civil Design told the Board substantial completion is set for Aug. 7, 2026, with total completion on Sept. 4, 2026.
The Board discussed related engineering and inspection services. The county also approved a Bridge Reinspection Program resolution and agreed to stay with Civil Design, Inc. for bridge inspections in calendar year 2026; Chairman Kyle Lee was authorized to sign the resolution. The award follows a competitive bid opening where Asphalt Paving & Materials submitted the low responsive bid of $3,287,773.31 among multiple bidders.
