Mayor Paul Koomar told the council that "the rail cars are in process" but that ridership declines from the COVID period have reduced revenues. He said the RTA has paid down debt to $13.9 million and warned residents could see a proposal on a future ballot to adjust the county sales tax to shore up transit funding.
Mayor Pamela Bobst reported that NOACA’s next meeting is April 10 and that NOACA will be awarding $2.7 million from the Brown Field Developing Loan Fund. She also noted that applications for senior transportation grants are due April 24, providing a near-term deadline for municipalities and service providers seeking support.
