Service Director Shaw told council the city has been working on Centennial Road corridor safety for more than a year and proposed a modern single‑lane roundabout at Centennial and Little Roads. After a letter‑of‑interest process that drew three consultants, staff selected Tetra Tech and negotiated a scope and fee proposal for $220,000 to provide topographic survey, engineering and right‑of‑way plans.
"Scope and fee negotiations were yielded a proposal in the amount of $220,000 to help us with this," Shaw said. Council approved Ordinance 9‑2026, appropriating funds from a 2026 account to proceed with engineering work; any future right‑of‑way acquisition would be presented separately if needed.
Shaw said the city plans to offer a public open house for community review and feedback once design work is underway. Councilmembers who represent nearby areas expressed support, calling it a proactive safety measure.
