Commission told SALC grant nearing Board submittal; Planning Commission approved ZTA with Ag recommendations

Agricultural Commissioner Josh Huntsinger told the commission on Jan. 12 that staff are close to completing a Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) grant package that will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors in February or March, and that farmers will be invited to advise on the grant.
Huntsinger also updated the commission on land‑use work: he reported that the Planning Commission reviewed Zoning Text Amendments the Agricultural Commission had discussed and approved the proposals while adopting the Agricultural Commission's subcommittee recommendations intended to add safety rails. He noted ongoing conversations about wolves and federal/state listings, saying Congress "recently voted to delist the wolves, removing them from the endangered species list, but it has not yet been sent for a final vote."
The commission received the reports as information; the minutes do not record any formal county action by the Agricultural Commission on SALC or the ZTA at this meeting.
