The Finance Committee considered Resolution 26-06, which authorizes the administration to apply for special-municipality grant funding for the West 210 construction project. A member of the mayor’s team (identified in the meeting as Kaitlyn) told council that staff had held a pre-construction meeting with Geauga Highway and expected work to begin in early June if grants and schedules align. Council was told the project figure discussed in the meeting was $200,000 and that Republic (the city's trash contractor) will attend the public meeting to address trash management during construction.
Council moved to place Resolution 26-06 on second read with emergency passage to meet application deadlines; the motion passed 7–0. Staff said a public meeting date will be posted when it is finalized and that additional updates would be provided by the mayor’s team and city engineers.
