Dave Sorenson, Kingsbury County Highway Superintendent, told the board he had scheduled the county highway bid opening for March 3, 2026 at 9:00 A.M. and reminded the board that bids for the 425th Avenue project would be opened Feb. 24 at Civil Design, Inc. in Brookings. Sorenson also updated commissioners on spring road postings and presented Right‑of‑Way occupancy applications from East River for boring on CR11 and CR2; the board authorized Vice Chairman Lundquist to sign the applications (motion by Nelson, second by Walls).
Sorenson and the board discussed which additional roads the Redstone Dairy wants improved and whether those requests conflict with Sorenson’s 2026 plan. The board asked Sorenson to coordinate timelines and engineering with Riverview LLC so projects do not overlap. Sorenson was also granted travel approval to attend a highway conference in Deadwood March 17–20, 2026 (motion approved).
