Council approves series of compensation and reclassification ordinances for city positions

On April 13 Avon City Council approved a slate of ordinances adjusting compensation and classifications for multiple city positions, adopting Ordinance Nos. 27-26 through 33-26 after motions to suspend the rules on each item.
The actions include amendments to prior ordinances establishing pay for a part-time project manager, grounds manager, assistant superintendent of streets, assistant superintendent of utilities and superintendents for streets and utilities. For each ordinance the Clerk read the title and Council moved to suspend rules and act; each suspension and adoption vote passed 7–0.
Council treated the package as routine personnel and classification updates, and the votes were recorded without extended debate. Because several of these items were considered under suspension of rules, their immediate effect follows the emergency or adoption language contained in each ordinance.
